(Reuters) -OpenAI and Japanese conglomerate SoftBank will every commit $19 billion to fund Stargate, a three way partnership to develop knowledge facilities for artificial intelligence within the U.S., the Data reported on Wednesday.

The ChatGPT maker will maintain a 40% curiosity in Stargate, and would act as an extension of OpenAI, the report stated, citing OpenAI CEO Sam Altman talking to colleagues. His feedback suggest SoftBank would even have a 40% curiosity, the report added.

OpenAI and SoftBank didn’t instantly reply to Reuters’ requests for remark.

On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump introduced that OpenAI, SoftBank Group and Oracle will unveil Stargate and invest $500 billion over the subsequent 4 years to help the USA keep forward of China and different rivals within the world AI race.
