Falling shares outnumbered advancing ones on the London Inventory Trade by 888 to 882 and 633 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February supply was down 0.30% or 8.29 to $2,762.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for supply in March fell 0.87% or 0.66 to hit $74.78 a barrel, whereas the March Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.64 to trade at $78.36 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.24, whereas EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Greenback Index Futures was down 0.06% at 107.90.
